When 14-year-old Bella Weems approached her mom, Chrissy, wanting a Jeep when she turned 16, her mom encouraged her to start a business and earn it.

That is the inspiration behind our Owlette Program. Our Owlette Program teaches young girls and boys, youth ages 11-17, entrepreneurial and life skills. Being an Owlette builds confidence and gets them out of their comfort zone, while setting goals and getting recognized for their efforts. Our Owlettes are making a difference in the lives of others and their own.

And, this month’s Owlette Spotlight on Success is on the eight Owlettes who are graduating at this year’s annual convention, the 2018 O2 Experience!

June’s Owlette Spotlight on Success:

We have eight OWL-mazing Owlettes whooo are graduating at this year’s convention! These Owlettes will be recognized during a mini graduation where they’ll get to shine bright as they walk across the main stage to get their certificates.

Congratulations to the following graduating Owlettes!

Here are their tips for other Owlettes:

Shelby Autry

“Do what you love and love what you do,” shares Shelby. “Don’t let anyone keep you from flying.”

Jill Cava

“To be successful, you have to have your heart in your business and in your story, no matter how small you may think your story is,” shares Jill. “Everyone’s story is important!”

Madison Colbeck

“If you get tired,” says Madison. “Learn to rest, not to quit!”

Reanna Marthaler

“Really listen and empathize with your Customers when they tell their story,” shares Reanna. “One of the biggest benefits to being in this business is the emotional connection you can form with your Customers; you’ll never forget the first time you put together a Locket with someone!”

Riley Miller

“Don’t be afraid! Go out there and talk to everyone,” shares Riley. “Show the jewelry off and people are more likely to buy from you if you are telling them about it and you sound excited.”

MeKendra Sloan

“Never give up, no matter how hard things might be,” says MeKendra. “Sometimes things aren’t easy and don’t go as planned, but remember setbacks build character and determination. If you stick with it and ride the waves out, everything will be just fine – I promise. Always remember, there’s always someone willing to help you and cheer you on.”

The O2 Experience Workshop

These Owlettes are also invited to attend the ‘Graduating Owlettes’ meeting at The O2 Experience convention on Thursday, July 26 from 11-11:25 a.m. During this meeting, we’ll discuss the three options Owlettes have after graduating, plus answer any questions. We’ll also have two, former Owlettes on-hand, Samantha Brantley and Megan Hendrickson, who have successfully transitioned out of the Owlette Program and taken two different directions – one formed an LLC with her mom and the other separated and built her own team. These two Owlettes are wonderful resources for our graduating Owlettes!

Here are the three options graduating Owlettes have:

  1. They may create a new Independent Designer account and will have the option to purchase a Starter Kit for only $49 for the new account (effective August 1, 2018), or they can create their own account without the Starter Kit (the Starter Kit is optional).
  2. The account on which they were listed as an Owlette/Co-Applicant may be transferred to them by the parent/legal guardian with whom they were working. (This option is for those Owlettes whose parent/legal guardian will separate from the account and the Owlette will become the Mentor.)
  3. If they prefer to become an Independent Designer under the same account, the account must be converted to an LLC or other form of business entity.
