When 14-year-old Bella Weems approached her mom, Chrissy, wanting a Jeep when she turned 16, her mom encouraged her to start and business and earn it.

Our Owlette Program is founded on this principle and this month’s Owlette Spotlight on Success exemplifies it!

Meet Ella Goens: December’s Owlette Spotlight on Success

Owlette Ella Goens, 11, and her mom, Carina Goens, Senior Director, have officially been working their O2 business together since September 2017 {though Ella has been helping her mom since March!}.

“Ella has been on a mission to not only earn money to buy a puppy, but also send her puppy to obedience school,” says Carina. “Ella came to me in September and said she wanted to have her own Business Launch party. She wanted to invite her own friends and our family, and keep the commission from the Jewelry Bar. I told her I thought it was a great idea and that I would support her 100 percent, but also gave her expectations.”

Ella prepared for her launch party by practicing her presentation so she knew exactly what she was going to say. She also took the time to mark up the Take Out Menu, so she knew where the items were that she wanted to talk about.

Carina was so impressed with Ella and her young entrepreneur heart, that she agreed she would help Ella create the invitations for her party, but Ella would have to send the text reminders to all the guests and help present and take orders at the Jewelry Bar.

“Ella exceeded my expectations,” exclaimed Carina. “Not only did she send out reminder texts, she also sent ‘You’re going to be missed at my party, but here’s my Hostess link for you to check out the collection and shop online if you find something you love’ texts to those who told her they couldn’t attend.”

Results from Ella’s Launch Jewelry Bar

“The day of Ella’s Jewelry Bar, she told me she wanted to do the presentation by herself and would just let me know if she needed my help,” says Carina. “Ella rocked her party! She had 17 guests attend and $1,300 in sales! She also booked three Jewelry Bars from her launch party.”

Ella was involved in every detail of her launch party from deciding her snack menu, creating her guest list, sending follow-up texts, setting up the jewelry, presenting, taking orders, playing a booking game to cleaning up after.

“The three Jewelry Bars Ella booked from her launch party were also a huge success,” says Carina. “I’m so incredibly proud of my sweet girl!”

What Ella Loves About Origami Owl

“My favorite thing about Origami Owl is that I get to work with my mom,” says Ella. “Being an Owlette has helped me learn business skills and gain confidence, and, I’ve made a lot of new friends. I love Origami Owl, and I am so happy it has allowed me to earn enough money to buy a puppy, which was a big goal of mine.”
