Our Owlette Program is the foundation of Origami Owl® and we’re so proud to share the success of our young Owlettes!

This month’s Owlette Spotlight on Success is Owlette team Shelby Stevenson and Skylar and Ashton Schwartz who quadruple-promoted to Senior Team Leader in August!

Our Owlette Program teaches young girls and boys, youth ages 11-17, entrepreneurial and life skills. Being an Owlette builds confidence and gets them out of their comfort zone, while setting goals and getting recognized for their efforts. Our Owlettes are making a difference in the lives of others and their own.

Here’s this incredible Owlette team’s story.

Shelby started her O2 journey in June of 2017, and Owlettes Skylar and Ashton quickly followed in January and February of 2018.

“I joined Origami Owl during the ‘Freedom + Summer Funds’ promotion for $2 to make extra income to feed our chicken habit,” shares Shelby. “We raise pet chickens and they became quite addicting! We started with two chickens and at one point had over 30 chickens!”

When they’re not busy raising chickens, Shelby, Skylar and Ashton enjoy working their O2 business together and hosting Jewelry Bars®.

Quadruple Promoting to Senior Team Leader

“Skylar and Ashton both played a huge role in helping us quadruple-promote to Senior Team Leader in August,” shares Shelby. “They both hosted Jewelry Bars in August. Skylar hosted an online Jewelry Bar and Ashton hosted an in-home/online Jewelry Bar.”

Skylar and Ashton also did a couple of Facebook Lives together to promote their O2 business.

They continue to work their O2 business every single day.

“Ashton and Skylar pass out Take Out Menus at school and everywhere they go,” says Shelby. “Ashton constantly wears her Locket everywhere she goes, and Skylar is always sharing her ‘why.’ Ashton donated meal-worms to her school as a science project to be a Force For Good® and Skylar has even hosted a team meeting for us via Facebook Messenger chat.”

Why They Joined Origami Owl and the Owlette Program

Speaking of their ‘why.’ Shelby shares that Skylar wanted to become an Owlette because she loved our mission to be a Force For Good.

“Skylar had been bullied in school and loved the mission that O2 stands for,” shares Shelby. “Origami Owl gives her something to keep her mind off being bullied. It gives her something to look forward to and is a way for her to share her story with others.”

Ashton joined as an Owlette, so she could spend more time with her mom and Skylar.

“Ashton has ADHD and Autism,” shares Shelby. “Origami Owl keeps her mind focused.”

Tips for Success

Ashton and Skylar believe the best tips they can give other Owlettes and Owlette teams are:

  1. Share your “why.”
  2. Stay focused and positive.
  3. Never give up hope.
  4. Always find the best in every situation.
  5. Always wear your jewelry because you never know who’s looking.
  6. Be brave and do a Facebook Live – it truly does help!
  7. Create a vision board – it gives you motivation to stay focused.
  8. Always smile and be a Force For Good.
