They worked countless hours, pouring into others and sharing Origami Owl® over the course of the year. Many of them have had their sights set on achieving Parliament and earning a luxurious trip to Bora Bora with every step they took in their businesses.

The moment of truth arrived at The O2 Experience this past weekend when the top 21 leaders in the company were recognized as part of Parliament, and the top 10 leaders of Diamond Parliament were formally announced.

Dressed in evening gowns, the top leaders stood waiting to find out their final points and placement. The No.1 Parliament spot also came with something extra-special: a new, Origami Owl-branded Jeep.

Whooo is Our Diamond Designer of the Year?

Congratulations to our Diamond Designer of the Year {drum roll, please} …. Robyn Torres, Executive Director!

Robyn earned a trip to Bora Bora and was the TOP Diamond Parliament Point Earner – with 209 Parliament Points. Now, she’s driving away in a custom aqua O2 Jeep as her top prize!

You can watch the touching moment in the Parliament video above where Robyn was able to share this special moment with her family.

“One of the scriptures I live by is ‘With God all things are Possible’ – Matthew 19:26. Prayer was a part of my journey since Day One, and believing in those that God brought to our team, and in myself, kept our focus on the mission of Origami Owl. It cultivated a family culture built on love, support, trust and hard work. Earning Diamond Parliament is truly a team effort. It takes the entire team working toward their personal and team goals to accomplish this. When your focus as a team is on others, then growth naturally happens. The moment I learned I earned the jeep felt surreal. It was as if the past five years flashed before my eyes. I felt so much gratitude that I had listened to God’s plans. I couldn’t believe I was actually standing there side- by-side with Karen Alaniz, who I am honored to Mentor and watch grow, from someone who didn’t know if she could become a leader, to standing next to me at that moment. Through it all, we have always believed in each other; and my mentor, Tami Butcher, who has been here with me from the beginning, has believed in me and I am so grateful for her. Embracing each of them, was a genuine moment of love and support. Having Breanna Johnson on our team be in the Top 10 with us was a testament of how hard we reached this as a team. Together, always encouraging one another. I felt so much love for my team {Team FAB}, the Founders, Yvette, my family and for every leader and Designer in the room, even if they were not a part of my team, because they are a part of this family. I learn from each of them; their hearts and love of this is the reason I persevered. The BEST part was having my husband and babies run up to me, and my momma being there to watch me earn this. They are my WHY, and the reason I get up every day and work so hard. To see their smiles, feel their love and for them to be proud of me, was a feeling I’ll never forget!”

Congratulations to Our Parliament Earners

These Designers focused on coaching, developing and training their team members to lift them up to success. Not only did they set an example and follow through on how to consistently be an Owlchiever, they also showed the importance of promoting up.

Tips from Parliament Achievers

How did these 21 Designers achieve Parliament? Here are tips for success from some of our Parliament achievers:

Erin Zapata, Director

“If achieving Parliament is a goal of yours, make sure you make it known, particularly to your team. Achieving Parliament is definitely a team accomplishment! Once you have made your goal known, break down the 100 points into smaller monthly goals. By doing that, it certainly makes it a less arduous goal.”

Robyn Torres, Executive Director

“Know the path to Parliament and the exact way you earn Points: Owlchievers, building leaders, and growth in Team Volume. Map out your plan with your Mentor. Don’t give up even if you have a hard month, and understand the goals of your Designers so you can help them. Remember this is a TEAM effort. Together Everyone Achieves More! Work with those that are willing: Through these five years, I’ve had Designers and Directors on my team decide this is not the journey for them. That is their choice. If I am focused on the best for them, I need to allow them to follow their passion. My focus needs to be on continuing to build those who want and need this in their life. It is never easy to lose a team member or leader, but we can’t allow that to change our destination. Our focus needs to be on our journey and those that want to be a part of it. Positivity and solution-based mindset: This is one of the most important traits you can build in your team culture. As a leader, ‘We Must Protect This House.’ It is your job to protect your business and every person on your team. Negativity tears you down and will affect someone on your team – do not allow it. When issues arise, as a leader you need to address it with positivity and solutions to help your team. Do this consistently and your leaders will follow. As a team, you are creating solutions instead of magnifying the issue. As a Designer, contact your Mentor one-on-one and they will help you work toward solutions. Do not allow public venting because your job is to protect everyone’s business. Those who have been here five years to those that are brand New Designers – we must build each other up and not allow anything to tear us down. Focus on the positivity and solutions, and never allow anything to lose your focus on your missions and goals!”

Lacey Adelmann, Executive Team Manager

“It is not the Customer’s job to remember you. It is your responsibility to make sure they don’t forget you.”

Karen Alaniz, Director

“I would say that Parliament is a goal that you really have to sit down and talk with your Mentor about. Knowing the program, before even starting, is KEY. Understanding how Owlchiever Points, Team Volume and Developing Leaders work, helps you set goals on how to work with Owlchievers, work on sponsoring for Team Volume, and work with Leaders to help them develop on your team. Upon returning from Convention, I’ve asked my leaders to print off the Parliament Rules so they could read them over and ask questions on anything they did not understand. With each of them, we will go over the program, and set goals with each leader who is working toward 100 points, breaking it down month by month. I feel this helps with a clear understanding of the direction each leader is going, and lets them set their own point goals every month. It’s a fun part of Mentoring calls, and I am so excited to see them reach for Parliament this year! I’ve observed that it is a great bond throughout the team for the leaders to announce their intent, and to ask their team to join them for the goal since it is a TEAM achievement. The one thing that I think motivated each leader who attended Convention was that they got to sit in reserved seating. Each of them told me that they felt special and honored for their hard work all year, and for me it was a true blessing to share it with each of them! I can’t wait to share Bora Bora pictures with them to show how hard work PAYS OFF, and I expect to see them in Hawaii!”

Vicki Matzen, Director

“You cannot hang out with negative people and expect to live a positive life. Be positive, encouraging and a light for others. That light will be reflected in your team, and together, your team can reach to new heights. Your entire team will ‘level up.’”

Aimee Johnson, Senior Team Manager

“To be successful at ANYTHING, you need to believe in yourself and SURROUND yourself with people who believe in you, too! Find your tribe! And, don’t forget to lift THEM up and encourage them just as much as they lift up and support you. Set your goals. Start with the BIG goal, and then work your way backward to HOW you are going to get there by setting smaller goals. And, make your goals VISABLE – create a dream board, a sign, or even wear an inscribed piece of jewelry that reminds you EVERY DAY of what you are reaching for. Remember your O2 Vital Behaviors, stay positive, block out the ‘noise,’ and GO FOR IT!”

Amy + Sydney Rehmeyer, Director

“Sydney and I are thrilled to represent Team Firecracker as a Parliament-led Team. We set this goal at Convention last year so we could sit up front together. This year, there were about 35 Owlettes and team members who joined us in Phoenix, so we got up early and sat up front! I’m so proud of the leaders who have worked so hard to build their teams and make this a team victory. This was an amazing year of growth, and I’m so grateful for the opportunity to be part of a team full of excellent CEOs.”

Maggie Stephens, Senior Director

“I always work on my personal business first, and aim for Owlchiever every single month. I aim to earn Owlchiever in a balanced way of personal sales (I aim for 1,000 PV), sponsoring new Designers and helping them to qualify at the 250 PV (cumulative in one month = 1 point) and 500 PV levels (cumulative in their startup period = 1 point), and building new Team Leaders (3 points). Aiming for Owlchiever helps me twofold with Parliament. One, it allows me to model running a balanced business to my fellow team members. Two, when I earn Owlchiever in addition to any of my Level 1 team members, it doubles the points in the Parliament Owlchiever category every single month. I love how aiming for Owlchiever and Parliament every single month/year pushes me to continuously grow my business. It’s perfect.”

Carina Goens, Senior Director

“I want everyone to know that Parliament is DO-ABLE for all. Continuous growth is crucial. You can only get that by being consistent in your own business, which comes from doing Jewelry Bars®. The benefit of running a strong personal business is that you will have strong Leaders that do the same. If you run strong, you will build strong. Sharing the opportunity is HUGE in growing your team and in earning Parliament. ‘You are only as strong as you allow yourself to be; never get discouraged, never give up because consistency and dedication is the key to success.’”

Tami & Tatum Butcher, Field Vice President

“When you’re tired of calling for Hostesses, keep calling. When you don’t want to send one more email, send it. When you feel like you are not a great leader, keep leading. When you don’t have the ‘Pep in your Step’ to post another fun LIVE on Facebook, post it. What will separate you from the others is doing the things that others are not willing to do. It makes all the difference in your business. Have a lot of fun along the way, and remember to laugh at yourself.”

Breanna Johnson, Executive Team Manager

“Working to earn Parliament and then striving for Diamond Parliament was a year-long marathon with my team. When you and your team decide to work for Parliament, it’s 100 Points broken into 3 categories: cultivating Owlchievers (yourself and your level 1’s), growing your business, and developing leaders on your level 1. Once you understand how to earn Points, create a plan to earn 100 Points in 12 months and then be consistent. Simple tips: commit to being an Owlchiever every month. Not only do your cultivating Owlchiever Points double when you are an Owlchiever, but you also want to lead by example for your team.

Here’s a plan to hit 100 Points: 1. Commit to being an Owlchiever each month. (2 Points) 2. Work with at least three teammates from your level 1 to also hit Owlchiever each month. (6 Points) 3. Develop five leaders on your level 1. (5 Points)

That plan will get you 101 Points, then the team volume growth will be a ‘bonus.’ It’s very hard to count on and track the growth, so I don’t use it in my plan, but it’s great to get a point here and there! Also, make sure you’re building your team and you qualify as a Senior Team Manager in June 2018! Now the road to Diamond is a bit different – think MARATHON, not sprint. This year we never ‘planned’ to be in the Top 10. I honestly just worked hard with my team and worked my personal business consistently. When the numbers started getting published, that’s when I realized we could be/stay at the top, and I personally started identifying more teammates who had Owlchiever goals. Parliament is all about working with your team and making it a team effort! I hope to see a lot more people in Parliament next year!”

Lynn & Dale Stover, Senior Director

“We are not a team because we work together. We are a team because we respect, trust and care for each other.”

Wendy Korfel, Director

“‘Get comfortable with being uncomfortable.'” – Coach Dar. I heard this quote about four years ago. I pretty much think about it daily. Decide what you want. How bad do you want it? If you ‘kinda sorta’ want it, It probably wont happen. What will it take to get there? Do you need to learn a new skill? Always keep learning. Then get to work. No excuses! And never ever give up!”

Jessica Lopez, Director

“It’s a new year so it’s time to set a new goal for Parliament. It’s important to work closely with your team and help each other out. Don’t take anyone for granted. Life happens and things can come up. Set your goal high and stay focused. Make a plan and stick to it!”
